The Maker’s Collection is a growing series of small sewing patterns designed to support your creative space. We know the value of creating a haven in our sewing space, however small, and these patterns are designed to help achieve just that. From project bags to tool cases and pin cushions, each design is practical and beautiful. These small sewing projects are created for makers. Each pattern solves everyday needs, bringing a little calm to your workspace.

The patterns also work beautifully alongside companion embroidery patterns from other Heather & Co. collections, allowing you to add detail through intentional placement.

Making for Yourself

As makers we spend so much time creating for others. But making something purely for ourselves can be a challenge. Sometimes we need a reason.

The Maker’s Collection grew from the simple idea of creating tools that support the making process itself. Sewing something for your own creative space becomes a little gift to yourself and a way of nurturing the work you love to do for others.

Solving Small Problems

My sewing space sits in a small shared corner of our home, a multi-functional room. In the middle of a project, it was often a challenge to find what I needed in a pile of stray tools.

The collection came from solving these small frustrations with simple designs. These are pieces that help organise while still feel beautiful enough to belong in your creative space. And beautiful storage for your tools becomes an invitation to create.

Patterns in the Maker’s Collection

The Envelope Case

The first pattern in the Maker’s Collection is The Envelope Case, a simple sewing project designed to hold tools between projects. It can be used for storing sketchbooks, sewing patterns, tablets, lightboxes or small laptops.
